Umble | A to Z of Zentangle Patterns | Tutorial

This April, I’m participating in the April A to Z Blogging Challenge with a creative twist -learning and sharing Zentangle patterns! Each day, I’ll explore a new pattern, uncovering its beauty and include it in my zentangle inspired artwork. At the end of the challenge, I hope to have a completed artwork with all the patterns I learned in this challenge. Join me on this artistic journey as I embrace mindfulness, creativity, and the joy of tangling!

Day 21 of the challenge – U for Umble

The Zentangle pattern Umble is a graceful, ribbon-like design that creates a woven, interlaced effect on the page. Designed by Heidi Sue, Umble mimics the appearance of curved strands looping over and under each other, giving it a soft, flowing, and three-dimensional quality. This tangle is both relaxing and engaging to draw, as it involves planning overlaps and creating depth through careful shading.

This is how the zentangle inspired artwork ZIA looks like with all the patterns from A to U.

Here’s a quick tutorial on how to draw Umble tangle pattern.
